Ok, a bit more info about the Aberdare comp, see the flyer. Also a generator has been aquired. All we need now is some good weather, where's this global warming all the hippies have been talking about?

A bit more Newport Skatepark news

Anthony Dennis of AberdareSkatepark.co.uk fame has just sent me some photos of how Newport skatepark is looking. It does look kind of mellow transition wise, but that may just be a trick of the camera. The park is pretty much complete now and looks rideable (not that I'm suggesting you do that). The official open date has been put back to 15^th September now I think, I'm not sure whats happening before then though and if they are stopping people from riding till that date.

Aberdare BMX comp

I have just been emailed about a BMX comp at Aberdare skatepark. It's been a good year for jams/comps in the area, with Chepstow, Llanishen and now Aberdare.

It's from 11am - 6pm on Sunday 14th September 2008 so you have plenty of time to get organised for it, call shotgun on a lift or whatever. Some sponsors have been found allready and there may be some bands as well.

On the subject of concrete skateparks, Newport should be finished by the end of this month. I haven't been there for a while so I don't know what it's looking like at the moment. I'll try and make a detour on the way back from work to get some photos.

Random update

I've just tweaked the site a bit to make uploading videos easier so thought what better way to test it than to have a clip of one of the best satiricle comedies ever created on here.

Summer comps

The summer is finally here, sort of and it officially big comp season. The two major recent ones are the X Games and The Empire of Dirt.

RideBMX (U.S) have a huge update with video and photos from everyone's favorite circus show, The X Games. the Big Air is just wild, the SuperPark is pretty much just a huge bowl and the street course actually looked like real street.

If dirt is your thing (although there were street obstacles on the course) then check out VitalBMX for some footage of the Red Bull Empire of Dirt, actually just check below because I have liberated the video from their site. Seeing this and all the other freesport events Red Bull supports makes buying their drink seem less expensive.

I haven't added any photos in a while so here are a few from last weekend at 'Philly skatepark. Just a mellow session but with some good showing off to the camera, even if as soon as the camera comes out people stop being able to do shit they can usually do all the time.

The Edge update

No, don't worry this update is nothing to do with the pompous shower of shit pop band U2, it's apparently what the new concrete park in Newport is being called.

Also I have heard that Hanger 81, Aberbargoed is closing down soon. I'll try and find out whats going on with that soon.

Had a pretty good session the other day dodging the rain around the Llanishen area and riding a few spots and of course, Llanishen. Hopefully this rain will bugger off and more sessions can get going. Scott also promises that the LSP JAM edit will be done soon, but don't expect any
promises....
